spring time etc.....(with the capacity for love also comes pain..)

the pond where teddy and i walk to. he likes to throw rocks in for the "posh." (splash.)
"walk, walk, rocks, biiiig rocks."

gloria, me, and teddy

happy kid, loves to be outside. we play all day long learning about leaves and flowers and birds.

self-portrait.

folsom....i have my canon resting on this narrow (about an inch and 1/2) beam.....i set the self-timer, steady the sucker, run like mad and tell hailey to look poignant (if one can look this way......did i mention were on a bridge about 60 ft up over a lovely blue river?)

pyramid peak, from the top our driveway. majestic.

my birthday....(everyday)

two little explorers paired together....

folsom sanctuary....the little teddy bear. the little face hole was at his level. he ran behind there and played peekaboo.

it was easter, and we put on nice clothes. teddy is wearing a little velvet jacket from orion. i think he felt a little uncomfortable, considering he and i live in sweatsuits..(or something quite comparable..)

mom loves her babies, and so does the coyotes and raccoons and bobcats.

the turkeys are gone, along with the ducks and midge. she loved these babies...you can't feel love without feeling loss. poor lady. hopefully auntie deb will perk her spirits in NY.

mom and her babies

these are mom's babies. two baby turkeys, two ducklings, and a little bantam chicky in the middle. (marco and polo are the turkeys, the ducks are debbie and dicky, and the chicky's name is midge.)

he follows the ducks around like they're his parents. when they splash, he splashes...when they clean their feathers, he cleans too. the five of them roam around the house, in and out of the flowers, and up through the garden.
on april 7th the earth gave me a spring shower as a lovely gift, but the baby chicky didnt fare so well. that afternoon i found carl, joe, and bonny all huddled around mom upstairs in their dressing room. bonny had the blow dryer set to low and mom was holding the chick and combing it's feathers while he dried. mom looks at me somberly, " i found him lying on his side," she says as she holds out the drowned looking creature for me to see, "his little legs were sticking straight out. we're trying to get him warm." okay. he recovered, thanks to their efforts, and claudia clover ilovebabychickens rejoices. midge now forever has curled up feathers.

this is carl's finished eagle project. mom and dad should really be getting the badge. it's a gazebo at camp navoo (i thought glory might want to check this action out...whats up, glory?)
we had snow! at a fair amount too, at least for mild placerville. carl and joe went snowboarding down this hill. the earth looked so different, it was a nice treat for our eyes.

mom has a cool hat that i wear sometimes, but i am in deep opposition to wearing beanies in warm weather, my one and only fashion rule..(great, now i have to break it..) in this photo, folks, wendy is eating oatmeal while she and teddy play peek-a-boo. they were really cute, obviously.teddy and his work of art. notice the brush technique on his egg, a true artistic savant. he later ate it. "mmmmm, eeeegggggg.......good." he can basically say anything. "duck poo, gross." true teddy, especially when you get it all over us. he'll never forget.teddy chasing the baby chicky. none of us are really quite fast enough.

magic evening

( naomi runs into the sunset)

(joe takes a mean photo. sorry about the digi. my old manny is outta film.)

(behind the house)

soft reflections in a cup of tea
the earth glistens
and
shimmers,
shimmering...
sunlight grows bright
behind dandelion down
golden; glowing.
spider's webs are
gossamer thread,
strung atop the blades of grass in celebration
in the sky are sparkles fairies, little flies catching the light,
day stretches on and on

now
silky strings from green worms hang from
leaves and

eaves
and clouds, swaying in the breeze, the light
sliding down it like streaking shooting stars

(like mysterious sliced bubbles)
hanging in celebration.
i swat away mosquitoes
like i would
wave to old friends,
"welcome back,"

the lavender is

brilliant
in this long
yellow
light
this season is me,
i match the earth and so does this little person in tie dye (gracias ames) squatting down blowing dandelions. he is in his own world, in this way we are together. the astronauts can see us

blended into the lush
vital green as lupin fills our nostrils.

carl gets his eagle at the last minute. mom and dad relax.
more to come. i think.
